"MIRACLES EXIST, SURE, BUT WHEN THEY ARE COUPLED WITH HARD WORK"

Audio of sunday's post-race conference (mostly in Spanish) by Nairo Quintana. Courtesy of Matt Rendell.

If you think he's stoic on the bike, you'll notice how even-tempered, and serious he is, while at the same time speaking his mind in a manner that those who characterize him as shy or anything of the sort would be surprised to hear.

By the way, the name of this post comes from an interesting exchange which Quintana has with a journalist at around 3:30 in. In reference to the press saying that it would take "a miracle" for him to win and take the lead, he's then asked, "so I guess miracles do exist, don't they?" Nairo's answer and his tone reveal an obvious sentiment to an unusual and almost insulting. A question, by the way, that oddly seems to be begging (or daring) him to answer in the form of a now well-known speech.
